We’re Moving to Knowle – A New Chapter Begins!

We’ve got some exciting news to share with all our students, families and friends…

Solihull Music School is moving!

From September 2025, we’ll be opening the doors to our brand-new home at The Laurels Studios on Knowle High Street – just a few miles down the road, but a big step forward for our school.

We’ve been looking for the right space for quite some time – somewhere with character, charm, and the right vibe for learning music in a creative, supportive environment.

The Laurels has all of that and more. With more room to grow, a beautiful setting, and a central location in Knowle, we’re thrilled to be starting this next chapter.

 Why the Move Means So Much

This isn’t just a move for convenience – it’s a return home.

Our Principal, Kate Turner, will be the fifth generation of her family to live and work on Knowle High Street. Her great-great-grandfather, Sergeant John Court, was the village policeman back in 1893! There’s something very special about coming full circle, and this move feels like bringing the music home.

  • A more distinctive and inspiring space for our students

  • More capacity to meet growing demand for music lessons

  • Better access for families – with plenty of parking, nearby shops, cafes and a lovely park just around the corner

  • The same great teachers, atmosphere and Yamaha method that makes our school so special

📅 Updated Term Dates

To help everything run smoothly, we’re also making a small change to our school calendar:

  • Autumn Term now starts: Monday 1st September 2025

  • Autumn Term will end: Sunday 21st December 2025

These dates now line up with local day schools and give everyone time to settle into the new space.

🎁 Free Taster Lessons – Coming Soon!

To celebrate our new home, we’ll be offering Free Taster Lessons this autumn for new students of all ages – from our playful Mini Maestros (4+ years) through to advanced levels. It’s a brilliant way to try something new, meet the team, and experience the joy of Yamaha group learning.

If you know someone who’s been thinking about joining us – now’s the perfect time to share this with them!
